Moomin celebrates its 100th anniversary, Covent Garden
As a preferred supplier to Capital & Counties Properties plc, owners and operators of Covent Garden Market and retail space we are asked to work with many of their retail clients.
The Moomin shop nestled right in the heart of the period 18th century market was celebrating 100 years of the world renowned Moomin’s cartoon, and we were tasked with creating a Moomin home on The East Piazza of Covent Garden in London.
Whilst Moomin was celebrating its 100th anniversary the primary aim of the event was to attract passing traffic of families and children and introduce the Moomin characters to another generation of viewers.
The most important thing for us was to bring Patrick from the Moon Shop’s image to life whilst managing the expectations of what was achievable in a public space given restrictions placed by Capital & Counties and the Council.
Building a custom Tepee, we completed the look with a blanket interior of synthetic grass, half log benches for the children complete with a throne for the story reader. All of this implemented and taken down post event with minimal disruption to a high traffic area like Covent Garden.
The two day event was a star attraction of the Piazza running for two days and popular with Londoners of all ages.
‘’I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all the work you did on our Moomin Summer Fun Event. Everything ran so smoothly even with the torrential rain we had during the set up. You made it look so easy! We will definitely recommend you to everyone we know and use you again for our next event ‘'
